David Cresson was appointed President and CEO of the Louisiana Chemical Association (LCA) and the Louisiana Chemical Industry Alliance (LCIA) in March 2025. In this role, he leads all aspects of both organizations, representing the interests of LCA’s 70 member companies and LCIA’s network of more than 600 companies. His focus is on fostering long-term economic growth and advocating for a strong business climate across Louisiana’s chemical and industrial sectors.
Prior to joining LCA, David served nearly 20 years as Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal Conservation Association of Louisiana (CCA). During his tenure, he managed a statewide board of over 200 members and was a leading advocate for fisheries and coastal conservation through regulatory, legislative, and public outreach efforts. Under his leadership, CCA Louisiana achieved record-breaking membership growth and financial support.
David was born and raised in Metairie. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, where he also served as captain of the baseball team. He and his wife, Melissa, have lived in Baton Rouge since 1993 and have three children: Hayden, David Jr., and Chase.
