Louisiana Chemical Association Comments on The Administration’s Whole-of-Louisiana Energy Strategy
BATON ROUGE, LA – January 23, 2026 – Today, David Cresson, President and CEO of the Louisiana Chemical Association, released the following statement regarding the Administration’s Whole-of-Louisiana Energy Strategy.
“The Louisiana Chemical Association welcomes the Whole-of-Louisiana Energy Strategy and the focus on aligning state agencies, regulators, utilities, regional partners, and private industry around clear priorities that strengthen competitiveness. Louisiana’s chemical manufacturing sector depends on reliable, affordable power, modern infrastructure, predictable permitting, and access to global markets. This strategy targets those fundamentals by emphasizing speed, clarity, and certainty for major investments.
We are optimistic about the opportunities identified for next-generation nuclear, hydrogen, and carbon management. We also support industrial efficiency solutions such as combined heat and power. These tools can reinforce Louisiana’s industrial base and help keep manufacturers competitive in global markets.
LCA’s priority is a predictable regulatory and legal climate that supports industrial growth and continued investment in Louisiana. We support the strategy’s direction toward technology-enabled permitting and a more efficient, predictable process while maintaining rigorous oversight.
Louisiana’s ability to win these projects will also hinge on workforce. The strategy recognizes the importance of a stronger talent pipeline through community colleges, technical programs, and university partners so Louisiana workers can access the high-wage opportunities these investments create. We appreciate the Administration for initiating a coordinated statewide approach, and we look forward to working with LED, the Department of Conservation and Energy, the Legislature, and local leaders to translate these priorities into consistent, community-supported growth across the state."
